Delhi News: Delhi government is focusing more on infrastructure development work in this financial year. For this, while the work of expansion and maintenance of the old flyover is being done along with the construction of a new flyover in the capital Delhi, on the other hand, work is being done on a plan to use the empty places lying under the flyover.
For this, plans are being made to build parking, office, EV charging station, sports complex, garden and library for indoor games under the flyovers. What will be built under which flyover will be decided according to the space available there. For this, the Public Works Department (PWD) has asked the chief engineers of all its zones to conduct a survey and report. Sources reveal that this step has been taken on the instructions of PWD Minister Atishi. Please tell that there are currently 102 flyovers in Delhi.
Encroachment will be removed and used
A senior official said that encroachments are being found on the vacant spaces available under many flyovers. Many public lands are occupied by homeless people and it becomes difficult to remove them. Under this scheme all such encroachments will be removed. There is no parking anywhere in many areas. In view of this, it has been decided that the vacant land under some flyovers will be developed as parking.
Focus on increasing greenery under flyovers
Sources reveal that this work will be started on 2-3 flyovers now. After this all flyovers will be brought under its ambit. Under the plan, attention will also be given to increase greenery under the flyovers. Greenery will be increased under the flyover with the help of many types of shrubs, vines and plants. Plants, shrubs and vines will be planted in between the flyovers and along the side walls. There are many flyovers where there is less greenery, including Chirag Delhi Flyover, IIT Flyover etc. There is a plan to plant Bougainvillea, Kaner, Cleandra and other plants to increase greenery.
