Congress did a big movement in front of the Indore Municipal Corporation headquarters. Describing the change in the rate zone as a gimmick to increase taxes through the back door, the Congress gheraoed the corporation headquarters over the basic problems.

Congress was calling Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava to submit a memorandum to reduce the rate, but he did not reach there. Congress alleged that the corporation has changed the rate zone of 531 colonies of the city in the budget. Due to this, there has been an increase of 30 to 60 percent in property tax in these colonies. Due to the change in the rate zone, the rates of door to door garbage collection have also increased by more than 30 percent. Congress is opposing this.
