Now Bhojpur Police has put forward its stand regarding the allegations of threat leveled against Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhojpur in the famous Bharat Tiwari case. In a statement issued by the SP office on Saturday, it refuted the news circulating on social media and some media platforms, in which it was claimed that the SP had taken Chandan Tiwari, brother of deceased Bharat Tiwari, aside and threatened him. The police have described all these allegations as completely misleading, factless and baseless.
According to the police, SP Bhojpur had come to meet the family members of Bharat Tiwari at their house only to express his condolences and to know the family’s side for an impartial investigation of the incident. Police say that their objective was to assure the victim’s family that a fair and transparent investigation would be conducted into the case. During this time, a female policeman from Shahpur police station was also present at the main door of the house.

Separate conversation took place at the behest of family members
It has been said in the statement that during the conversation, the family members of the deceased themselves had requested the SP to go a few steps away from the crowd and talk to him. After this request, a normal conversation took place at a distance of 3 to 4 steps. During this, the family demanded their safety and an impartial investigation. Police say that this conversation has been misrepresented and it is completely wrong to call it an incident of threat.
Bhojpur Police has clearly said that no incident of any kind of threat or pressure by the SP took place. It has also been said in the release that it appears that Chandan Tiwari’s statement has been given under the influence of some outsider. However, the police did not name any person or organization.
Appeal to avoid misleading news
Bhojpur Police said that it stands with Bharat Tiwari’s family with full sensitivity and is committed to a fair investigation of the case. Also, an appeal has been made to the common people not to trust unconfirmed and misleading news spread on social media or other mediums. Police said that in any case, only official information should be considered correct, so that rumors can be avoided and the investigation process is not affected.
