International Hockey In Bihar: Indian women’s team head coach Harendra Singh became emotional over the joy of organizing international hockey for the first time in his birthplace Rajgir, Bihar. He said on Sunday (November 10) that his years-old dream has come true.
Born in Chapra, Bihar, Harendra has also been the coach of the Indian men’s team, women’s team and World Cup 2016 winning junior team. Dronacharya Awardee Harendra again became the coach of the Indian women’s team in April this year after being the coach of the American men’s team for three years.
Asian Champions Trophy starting from Monday

I had a desire for years to have hockey in Bihar and seeing it being fulfilled is a very emotional moment for me.

He said that I want to thank Bihar government and Hockey India on behalf of my team and family for this. Along with excitement, there are a lot of expectations and all the girls are also very excited. Indian team captain Salima Tete said that along with Sir, we all are excited to play in his state for the first time. We want to celebrate this by giving good results. We will try to perform well in this tournament. He said that Team India is not focusing on the result but on every match.
