During an interview with The Bombay Journey, Dileep said, “I used to play. Meanwhile, Hum Aapke Hain Koun film Mil Gayi. I thought life was set. That film became a super hit, but after that no work was found. It so happened in the year 2007 that a play of mine was going on which ended. I was doing a show, that too suddenly stopped. After that such a period came in life that no phone was coming for work. I have no work left.

Got offer of ‘Comedy Circus’

”I thought that there are two children, there is a family. Expenses are increasing and children’s school fees have to be paid. what to do now It was a very difficult period that what to do now. In this age, which new line should I go in because I do not know anything other than acting. What kind of test even God takes. Money was needed a lot. Meanwhile, I got an offer for a show, Comedy Circus. Most of the jokes in it were of poor quality.

Because of this the offer was rejected

Dilip Joshi further said, “Comedy circus people were also giving good money. I thought that such work has not been done till date. It has always been my desire to do such work that our family can also sit together and watch it. I refused. A month and a half after rejecting this offer, I got Tarak Mehta’s offer. God did such a miracle that the matter of lifetime was settled.
