Government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said, “We are saddened to learn that there has been loss of life and property due to floods in Nuristan province. We offer our prayers for those who lost their lives in this incident and wish the injured a speedy recovery.”

The Meteorological Department of the Transport and Civil Aviation Ministry said that there is a possibility of more bad weather in 10 out of 34 provinces of the country. Heavy rains, thunderstorms, strong winds with dust and sand and flash floods are expected in these states. The ministry has warned people to stay away from river banks and flood prone areas.
