Bangladesh Violence : There was a political coup in Bangladesh on August 5 last month. Sheikh Hasina had to flee the country. Now there is an interim government ruled under the leadership of Mohammad Yunus. A month after the coup, there is a tense situation on the border as well. Many Bangladeshis are trying to infiltrate India. Regarding this, a meeting was held between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on September 5. Its main objective was to increase vigilance on the borders. In this meeting, the BSF delegation was led by DIG Manoj Kumar Barnwal, while Mohammad Saifullah Islam Chowdhury led the BGB representatives. During the meeting, border management plan and related issues were discussed. Both the commanders expressed commitment to promote a safe and peaceful border environment.

Sheikh Hasina’s government fell in Bangladesh after the violence over reservation for the last several months. Due to the rebellion, she had to flee Dhaka. Currently, Sheikh Hasina has taken refuge in India. A lot has changed in Bangladesh in the last one month. After Sheikh Hasina’s departure, an interim government has been formed there under the leadership of Nobel Prize winner Mohammad Yunus. 33 cases have been registered against former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina. There are constant reports of attacks on Awami League leaders and workers. There, Hindus are also being continuously targeted.
The new government has also raised questions about the deals made with India during Sheikh Hasina’s tenure. The new government says that if all these deals are in favour of Bangladesh, then they can be reconsidered. The dispute over the Teesta river is also increasing. People of the Hindu community from Bangladesh are pleading to come to India.
