In Hyderabad, Pakistan, first a Hindu girl was kidnapped, then she was forced to convert to Islam and then married.

Pakistani Hindu Girl: A minor Hindu girl who was kidnapped from Hyderabad, Pakistan about a year ago, was handed over to her family on Wednesday on the orders of a court. After being kidnapped, the 16-year-old girl had to suffer torture for a year and was forcibly married to a man who converted her to Islam.

Shiva Fakir Kachi, head of the Pakistan Derawar Ittehad organisation representing the Hindu community, said the court’s decision was a big relief and victory for the victim’s family and their daughter.

He said, “She is a brave girl who was tortured a lot. She was kidnapped and they forcibly converted her. She was married to an elderly Muslim man.”

Kachi said his organisation had been pursuing her case since last year and the police finally traced her in Rahim Yar Khan and brought her to Hyderabad where she was lodged in a women’s shelter home. “The parents filed a case in court which today ordered that the girl be handed over to them,” he said.
