During this, he talked about reaching a compromise on the Ukraine war. He stressed that there are no preconditions for discussions but any deal must include legitimate Ukrainian authorities.

According to Reuters report, Putin said that Russia is ready to talk to anyone, including President Volodymyr Zelensky. Putin told a reporter from an American news channel that he had not spoken with Trump for years, but was ready to meet with him to discuss the conflict.

Putin rejected claims that Russia was in a weak position. He said that after the attack on Ukraine in 2022, the country has become stronger. While Putin said Russia is ready to negotiate, he stressed that Kiev must also be ready to compromise. Putin rejected any possibility of a temporary ceasefire in favor of a permanent peace agreement.
