Why 3 rotis should not be served in a plate

This rule mentioned in the scriptures is followed even today in many homes and people do not serve three rotis in a plate. Some people do not even pack three rotis in the tiffin. Astrologer Anish Vyas explains that in astrology, three numbers are considered inauspicious. That’s why people serve only two or four rotis. If for some reason 3 rotis are needed then serve 2 rotis first and one roti later. Or you can serve 3 rotis after breaking one edge of the roti. With this the number of rotis becomes four. This belief has been prevalent since ancient times and even today people continue to believe it without any reason. Although there is no scientific basis for this.

• In Sanatan Dharma, three rotis are kept in the food that is taken out in the name of the plate of the deceased person. Mainly during Pitru Paksha, three rotis are served in the plate of ancestors.
• It is said in the scriptures that serving three chapattis in a plate is like feeding a dead person. Therefore never serve three rotis to anyone.
• In astrology, number 3 is considered inauspicious. Therefore, the number 3 is not included in any auspicious work, nor is any auspicious work started from the third date. Odd numbers like 5,7,11, 21 are considered auspicious.
