Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement that during about 45 minutes of talks on Sunday (April 19, 2026), the two leaders discussed the current regional situation in detail. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to President Pezeshkian and the Iranian leadership for sending a high-level delegation led by Iranian Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to Islamabad for talks with the US on April 11 and 12.

According to the Pakistan PMO statement, Pejeshkian thanked Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Field Marshal for Pakistan’s strong commitment to the success of peace efforts, and also assured that relations between Iran and Pakistan will be further strengthened in the coming days.
