Trump changed the rules in his first term

Thousands of people turn to the United States in search of better job opportunities and benefits. To go to America they need H1B visa. But Donald Trump changed the rules of H1B visa in his first term as the 45th President. In the new rules implemented by Trump, the salary for foreign workers was kept equal to that of American workers, but many new conditions were also imposed on migrant workers. After the new visa rules were made, the rate of rejection of H1B visa applications had increased during Trump’s first term. Besides, the time for visa processing had also increased.

If new rules are implemented again, Indians will be more affected.

The number of Indian workers is the highest among all migrant workers in America. At present there are about 51 lakh Indian immigrants in America. In the year 2023, a total of 3.86 lakh immigrants were given H1B visas, out of which 2.79 lakh people were of Indian origin. At the same time, in 2021, 72% of the total NRIs aged 16 years and above were working. In such a situation, if Donald Trump again implements such rules regarding H1B visa, then it will have the biggest impact on the Indian people. It is noteworthy that many Indians are working in America’s IT sectors, finance and other professions, who are dependent on H1B visa for jobs in America.

Trump against immigrants who came to America illegally

It is noteworthy that Donald Trump has been vocal against immigrants entering America illegally and his behavior on this has also been strict. Last year, 29 lakh people were arrested for illegally entering America, of which 90,415 were Indians.

However, Donald Trump has said in his election speech, ‘We only have a problem with illegal immigrants. We will try to bring skilled Indians to America.
