Who is 17 year old Riddhi Chauhan who led 300 American Navy cadets, read interesting story

When teenagers are preparing to go to school, 17 year old Riddhi Chauhan is at the drill field, where she is leading the practice of about 300 cadets. The Indian-American student of Benjamin N. Cardozo School in Queens is the battalion commanding officer of the school’s Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC), the highest student leadership position in the program.

According to news agency ANI, Riddhi Chauhan has been admitted to the Naval Academy Preparatory School. In this way, his dream of becoming a commissioned officer in the United States Navy is now just a short distance away. Riddhi joined the NJROTC program as a freshman to improve his leadership skills. There she held several leadership roles – such as Academic Commander, STEM Commander, Platoon Leader and Inspection Commander and eventually became the Battalion Commanding Officer.

Riddhi handles the day-to-day activities of the battalion and oversees training sessions. She guides junior cadets. Four days a week, she reaches school before 7 a.m. to practice drills before classes start. His achievements are not limited to leadership only. As Academic Commander, he helped his school team qualify for the second round of the ‘Leadership and Academic Bowl’ for two consecutive years. Also contributed in getting the unit first position in the National Academic Examination.

Led the underwater robot program
Riddhi Chauhan has also led the battalion’s first ‘SeaPerch’ underwater robot program, which gave the cadets practical experience of robotics and engineering. Riddhi believes that leadership means serving others and leading by example. He says that the humility, kindness and selfless service he learned from Mahant Swami Maharaj and his association with BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha have played an important role in shaping his leadership style.

Family is from Rajasthan
Ruchika and Dilip Chauhan’s daughter Riddhi’s family is originally from Jaipur, Rajasthan. At the age of just 17, he has led hundreds of cadets and inspired many students.
