Prayagraj UPPSC Student Protest: Students are continuously protesting outside the office of UP Public Service Commission in Prayagraj demanding UPPSC pre-exam normalization. On Thursday (14 November), the Public Service Commission reversed its decision and formed a committee to analyze and investigate it. CM himself Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the demand of the students in Prayagraj and asked the Commission to communicate and coordinate with the students and take necessary decisions regarding the PCS Preliminary Exam 2024 in a day.
However, today i.e. even after the decision of the Commission on Thursday, the students seem to be in no mood to end the agitation. The protesting students have expressed their unhappiness over the decision taken regarding RO and ARO examinations. Angry students say that they will not come to protest again and again, they want complete justice.
‘Intention to prevent it by forming a committee’
Angry students are standing at the protest site demanding ‘One Day One Shift’ for the RO and ARO exams conducted under UPPSC. Students say that the government formed the committee only to deter them.
Students preparing for competitive examinations who participated in the protest say that if the Commission conducts any examination, it should be conducted in ‘One Day One Shift’. In such a situation, unless he gets assurance about this, he is not going to agree.
Committee formed to investigate
In fact, seeing the matter gaining momentum, on the initiative of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, UPPSC has decided to conduct Pre Exam 2024 on a single day. The Commission has taken this decision on the demand of the students who have been protesting for the past several days. Due to which lakhs of candidates have got relief.
Apart from this, the Commission has constituted a committee to ensure transparency and quality of RO and ARO examination 2023. The Commission has taken these steps to maintain the purity and fairness of the selection examinations. This committee will present its report after examining all the aspects. However, despite this decision of the Commission, the student’s doubts remain and he is adamant on some of his demands.
Commission’s notice issued regarding UP PCS and RO/ARO examination
A notice has been issued by the Commission regarding UP PCS and RO/ARO examination. In which it was said that for the last few months, cases of paper leaks in selection examinations had come to light in different parts of the country, in which the involvement of various institutions was found. Keeping this in mind, in order to ensure fairness and transparency of the selection examinations, the state government had recently expected to conduct the selection examinations in the state in multiple shifts with the number of more than 5 lakh candidates, in order to which the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Necessary action was initiated by the Commission.
With the same objective, Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission had also announced to conduct the proposed PCS (Preliminary) Examination 2024 and Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer etc. (Principal) Examination-2023 in multiple shifts in the coming December. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the demands being made by some students for the past few days and asked the Commission to take necessary decisions by communicating and coordinating with the students. On this, the Commission took this decision appropriately after holding a dialogue with the students.
On the initiative of the Chief Minister, it has been decided to conduct the Commission PCS Preliminary Examination 2024 in one day like before. Similarly, with the aim of conducting the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer etc. (Principal) Examination-2023 in a transparent, quality and clean manner, a committee has been constituted by the Commission to conduct integrated research and analysis of all the facts, which will all After considering all the aspects, it will submit its detailed report as soon as possible.

On the government’s change in decision after the protest by the candidates regarding the UPPSC examination, Congress state president Ajay Rai said, “This is the failure of the government, the commissions formed by them have failed.
