He told that 23 more weapons have been recovered during the last 24 hours. A total of 202 arms, 252 ammunition and 92 bombs of all types have been recovered today. Since the violence, a total of 789 arms and 10648 ammunition have been recovered so far. In fact, after the appeal of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, many people have returned their weapons.

Recently Home Minister Amit Shah also visited the state. During this, he visited the relief camps of Kuki and Meitei communities and took stock and assured help to the people. He had said that the government is determined to restore peace in Manipur at the earliest and ensure the return of the displaced to their homes. Apart from this, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh had also issued a warning saying that legal action will be taken against those who are found to have illegal arms and ammunition.
