Gupt Navratri 2026: Gupt Navratri is starting from 15th July, the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Ashadha month. As per its name, during this Navratri, the worship of Mother Goddess is done in a secret manner. Tantrik and Aghori perform secret sadhana, hence Gupt Navratri is considered special for them. During this time, Tantrik practitioners and those who wish to achieve success perform Ghatasthapana and perform special rituals.
In Gupt Navratri, the method of worship, the form of worship and the purpose of worship are different. Gupt Navratri holds more importance for Tantrik worshippers, but in such a situation, can people from household life also do Ghatasthapana in Gupt Navratri. Let us know.
Who are the family members?
The four ashrams of Sanatan Dharma are Brahmacharya, Grihastha, Vanaprastha and Sannyasa. In this, Grihastha Ashram is one in which a person marries and fulfills his family, children, livelihood and social responsibilities.
Can householders perform Ghatasthapana during Gupt Navratri?
Astrologer Suresh Shrimali explains that according to Devi Bhagwat Mahapuran (Canth 7), the importance of Navratri fast and Goddess worship has been explained to all the devotees. Nowhere have householders been deprived of Navratri worship or installation of Kalash.
Whereas in Markandeya Purana, worship of Goddess has been described as beneficial for everyone. King Surath (a householder) and Vaishya Samadhi both had attained Siddhi by worshiping the Goddess. This makes it clear that Goddess worship is not limited only to Sannyasis or Tantriks.
According to the religious scriptures and the tradition of Goddess worship, householders can establish the Kalash (Ghatasthapana) with devotion and perform sattvik worship of Maa Durga.
