Security arrangements for Kanwar Yatra, 243 company PAC including commandos deployed, keeping an eye on everything

Kanwar Yatra 2023: With the beginning of the month of Savan, the Kanwar Yatra has started from July 4, where a large number of devotees have set out to offer Gangajal to Lord Bholenath. In such a situation, strict arrangements have been made by the police administration to ensure that this yatra can be completed peacefully. A large number of police forces have been deployed on the Kanwar Yatra route. So on the other hand police patrolling is also being done continuously so that chaotic elements cannot create any hindrance in the yatra. This time ATS commandos have also been deployed on the Kanwar route.

Apart from 243 Company PAC, 7 Company CAPF and 3 Company SDRF, ATS commands have also been deployed under the leadership of seven gazetted officers from DGP Headquarters level to conduct the Kanwar Yatra peacefully. 1056 hot spots have been identified on Kawand Marg, in view of which 1448 QRTs have been constituted.

Giving information about this, UP DGP Law and Order Prashant Kumar said that a large number of devotees reach Varanasi, Meerut, Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Shamli for Kavad Yatra. In view of this, 13 ASPs, 33 DSPs, 75 Inspectors, 244 Sub Inspectors, 1250 constables have been deployed on this entire route. Along with this, 22 inspector-sub-inspector traffic and 150 traffic constables have been deployed so that the traffic system can be operated smoothly. At many places, commando teams of Les ATS have also been deployed from resources.

The DGP said that 4159 Shiva temples, 362 water-taking places, 362 Shravan Mela places have been marked on the total 1165 routes of the Kanwar Yatra. In view of all these, elaborate arrangements have been made for the police system. Women and men policemen in plain clothes have been deployed on the Yatra route. Monitoring is being done in the temples through CCTV. Patrolling is being done with 4800 two-wheelers and four-wheelers of 112 for monitoring the entire route.
