Vinesh can contest from Charkhi Dadri and Bajrang from Badli, is the path easy or difficult? Understand the whole equation

Haryana Assembly Election 2024: Indian wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Delhi today (Wednesday 4 September). After this, discussions about both the wrestlers contesting the Haryana assembly elections intensified. If sources are to be believed, Congress can field Vinesh Phogat from Charkhi Dadri seat and Bajrang Punia from Badli assembly seat. Why are these two seats so important that Congress is fielding both the players on these seats?

Why is Charkhi Dadri seat special?
Let us tell you that in 2019, independent Sombir Sangwan won from Charkhi Dadri seat. He defeated BJP’s Babita Phogat. Former Congress MLA Nripendra Sangwan and former minister Satpal Sangwan could not do anything special in this election. At the same time, if we talk about the current situation, independent MLA Sombir Sangwan has supported the Congress and former minister Satpal Sangwan’s son Sunil Sangwan has joined BJP just two days ago.

Babita Phogat already has a claim on this seat, so a political battle can erupt in BJP for the ticket on Charkhi-Dadri seat. If BJP gives ticket to any one of these two from here, then obviously they will have to face the displeasure of the other and it will also affect the votes. If Congress fields Vinesh Phogat from Charkhi Dadri, then they can get the benefit of this.

Vinesh Phogat is a resident of Balali village in Charkhi Dadri district. She was disqualified due to 100 grams of increased weight. Due to which she announced her retirement from wrestling. After this, recently when Vinesh Phogat returned from Paris Olympics, she was given a grand welcome.

If Vinesh Phogat enters politics, she can also get huge support from the strong relationship with Khap Panchayats and farmers. This can ensure her victory.

Why only Bajrang Punia on Badli seat?
On the other hand, Bajrang Punia can be fielded from Badli assembly seat. At present, Kuldeep Vats is the MLA from here who is also from the Congress party. In the 2019 elections, Kuldeep Vats defeated BJP’s strong leader O. P. Dhankhar by 11245 votes. Earlier in the 2014 elections, O. P. Dhankhar defeated Kuldeep Vats who was contesting as an independent.

Congress candidate Naresh Kumar finished fourth in 2019. Last year, Kuldeep Vats was surrounded by allegations of fake degree. In such a situation, this time Congress is looking for a strong face for the Badli assembly seat. Due to which it is now believed that Congress can stake claim for Badli seat by taking Bajrang Poonia.
