Boat carrying 133 passengers capsized in the sea, 67 people rescued so far

Officials have given information about this accident and said that till now 67 people have been saved. Rescue operation is being conducted to search for other people. According to information revealed by Guyana Prime Minister Mark Phillips, the name of the boat that capsized was ‘MV Barima’. This boat was going from the capital Georgetown to Port Kaituma via the North Atlantic coast. During this time the boat overturned near the Pomeroon river. PM Phillips has informed that among the 67 people who were rescued in the search and rescue operation conducted after the accident, 15 children are included.

PM is doing rescue operation

Guyana Minister Juan Edghill has informed on Facebook that the capsizing of the boat was reported at 11:01 pm local time. As soon as the news of the accident was received, search and rescue operation was started on the spot with the help of government and private boats. Officials have expressed hope that more passengers will be saved safely in the rescue operation. Prime Minister Mark Phillips is monitoring the relief and rescue operations on behalf of the government.

A boat carrying several Indian passengers capsized near Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam. 15 people died in this accident. This boat overturned in the sea at a distance of about 400 meters from Ngoi. Due to this, everyone in the boat fell into the sea. According to the information, a total of 36 people were aboard the boat that met with the accident.
