The president symbolically chose the northeastern city of Sumy, a few kilometers from the Russian border, to record his address, where Ukrainian forces entered Russia on August 6. “Russia started a war against us 913 days ago, partly through the Sumy region,” Zelensky said. But the war took a turn when the Ukrainian army attacked Russia’s Kursk region. The Ukrainian army claims to have captured 1,200 square kilometers of Russian territory in Kursk. The Ukrainian army launched drone attacks on Russia last week, targeting strategic bridges and its drone bases. Meanwhile, on Saturday too, Russia and Ukraine attacked each other with drones, missiles and artillery.
